I have a 22 month old that for the last 6 months has been waking up every night at exactly 1:00 crying hysterically like he was scared..He does sleep in the same room as we do! There are times when he doesn't want to go into his crib and I have to lay with him in our bed until he falls asleep..My husband and I have had a few encounters with weird things going on...The bathroom door to our bathroom sometimes will shake like someone is trying to get out..Also my sons toys have gone off a few times without anybody being around them or pressing the buttons..And my husband had said that he has seen things out of the corner of his eyes move in the kitchen...Could this a haunting of this condo we live in.
Hello, I would like to help you with your child. You can teach your child through empowerment whenever an issue arises. This will not go away and since your child has the ability to see and feel what others don't, the sooner you embrace this gift the more at peace you will be. There is a difference between being surprised by the unexpected and scared. First ask if your child was just surprised because someone appeared. Ask how it makes them feel.....scary is for something dark and mean. You will need to be very clear about these 2 things ahead of time by discussing the difference. If you have seen the movie, "The Sixth Sense" you will know what I mean. In the end you discover that the child has the ability to see the dead people but not because they want to scare him, it is that because he can see them, they flock to him for help. Also, with the show, "The Ghost Whisperer" unfinished business ended up being why she felt guided to help the dead who had not crossed over. Anyway, if it is just plain scary tell your child to loudly shout to the entity to go away....as many times as it takes to get them to feel they are gone and the child feels they are empowered now and at peace. If it is not one of the scary ones, guide your child to communicate with it. Play 20 questions.....with yes/no answers to questions to narrow down why the entity is there. I have known some children to be magnets or beacons, so the sooner they learn how to differentiate between the 2 the better.
