Prince Jackson took the stand Wednesday (June 26) to testify in a lawsuit determining the wrongful death of his dad, Michael Jackson. The King of Pop's family is suing AEG Live over the hiring of Dr. Conrad Murray, who was convicted of involuntary manslaughter in Jackson's death.

 

Jackson's kids, Prince, Paris and Blanket, along with his mother Katherine Jackson, allege AEG was negligent in their hiring, retaining and supervising of Murray.

 

During questioning, CNN reports, Prince testified that "After [Michael] got off the phone [with AEG], he would cry." Jackson's oldest child adds, "He would say 'They're going to kill me, they're going to kill me.'"

 

Prince also talked about a meeting between Murray and AEG Live CEO, Randy Phillips, the night before Jackson died. He says Phillips was aggressively speaking with Murray. "He was grabbing his elbow," Prince says, "It looked aggressive to me. He was grabbing by the back of his elbow and they were really close and he was making hand motions."

 

Jackson wasn't home at the time, but was instead attending the last rehearsal he would have. When Prince called his dad to let him know Phillips was there, Jackson told him to offer the AEG executive food and drink. It was the last conversation the two would have.

 

Prince is expected to undergo cross-examination by AEG Live's lawyer Marvin Putnam later Wednesday. The company contends that Jackson chose Murray as his doctor, leaving them with no knowledge of the treatment he was being given. Murray admitted to giving Jackson nightly doses of the powerful anesthetic propofol for his insomnia, an overdose of which caused his death.

 

Prince will be the only Jackson child to testify in the trial. A judge ruled that it would be harmful for 11-year-old Blanket, while Paris is currently hospitalized for psychiatric treatment, following a suicide attempt. Jurors may see pieces of her taped deposition, though.
