Ghost event helps preservation group
Preservation group to receive $1,200
GETTYSBURG - The organization that held a paranormal studies gathering in Gettysburg last weekend said that it raised more than $1,200 for the Gettysburg Battlefield Preservation Association.
The Ghost World Conference raised the money in a raffle. More than 300 ghost enthusiasts from the U.S. and Canada attended for lectures, workshops and ideas, organizers said.
The preservation association was founded in 1959 as the first public-private partnership at Gettysburg. The group has purchased a number of endangered battlefield sites and donated them to the Gettysburg National Military Park.
