It's that time of year again when mysterious crop circles begin to
appear in East Sussex's fields.
Are they man-made? If so, why do they sometimes appear on land where
they are out of general view?
Flying saucer buffs attribute such phenomena to messages from aliens.
There is also evidence that such effects can be the result of freak
meteorological conditions.
Usually, however, the pictures are the work of mischievous enthusiasts
who get a kick from making elaborate signs on the landscape.
