Can people travel to the past against their will?

Can people vanish into thin air in front of witnesses, never to be seen
again?
Is it possible to interact with people who have been in another space
and time, or open gateways leading to other worlds?
Unexplained events involving time travel and other dimensions challenge
the minds of all interested in the mystery of space and time.
There are many baffling cases that imply that the nature of reality is
stranger than we imagine.

Ideas of time travel have existed for centuries and physicists
constantly debate the possibility to travel to any point in the past or
future. So far, no one has successfully demonstrated time travel, but no
one has been able to rule it out either.
Sometimes science fact can be just as strange as science fiction.

In our article Time Window at the Upper Current River, we wrote of a
man, Leonard Hall, who for a brief moment saw glimpses of past events.
Hall was not the only one who encountered people from the past.
Two remarkable and unexplained incidents occurred in 1936. The first
incident took place in Fresno, California.

One day a young woman, Carmen Chaney and her aunt, noticed an old woman
standing on the street corner. The old woman seemed to be in pain and
she looked very week. Carmen and her aunt went out to see if there was
something, they could help her with. As they approached the aged woman,
they noticed she had pale and very dry skin, big eyes, and long white
hair. However, what surprised them most were her clothes. She was
dressed in very old-fashioned dress, shoes, and hat. These were the kind
of clothes, which were modern hundred years ago. The woman simply looked
misplaced, as if she was in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Then something unexpected happened. When the aged lady saw them
approaching her, she became horrified. Several people watched as she ran
across the street, looked once or twice behind her shoulder to see if
anyone followed her.
Then she vanished into thin air, as if she never been there.

The same year, about six months later another curious and unexplained
incident occurred in Detroit. A well-dressed stranger entered a small
hotel and explained he had just been involved in a car accident. The
hotel manager asked, if there was something he could do for him, but all
the man wanted, was to sit and wait for his friend, who apparently was
going to arrive shortly. He was given a room and the employees continued
with their duties without paying any more attention to the stranger. He
was treated like any other guest.

In the evening, the stranger called for room service several times, but
since no one came to him, he went downstairs to the entrance hall. There
he spoke with the hotel manager, complaining about the poor service. He
kept talking and then, he suddenly was silent. The entrance hall became
very dark. What happend thereafter is unclear. Some people yelled when
they saw a blue glowing light around the stranger. The hotel manager
tried to grab the man, but was thrown to the ground by a flash produced
by electric discharge.
The stranger left the hotel in a hurry, never to be seen again.

When the hotel personnel cleaned up the man's room, they discovered an
unfinished letter. It read:

"Dear, Harry,
I arrived yesterday with the hope of meeting you, I am sorry to bother
you again. Please, come here as soon as you can. Perhaps you can help
me. Otherwise, I am doomed to live in a time that I do not belong to. I
am?."
There ends the letter?.
In both cases, the persons entered our reality unwillingly and obviously
wanted to return to their own time. They were not caught in a causality
loop, but rather "pushed" out of their own time into our reality.
Inter-dimensional portals, or time windows might occasionally open and
allow different worlds to merge for a brief moment.
