Is our pub ghost a former regular?
Is there anybody out there... who knows the identity of a ghost believed to be haunting a Preston pub?
When they took over running the Hand and Dagger pub, Preston, Pam Mobbs and partner Dave Eyre knew that serving spirits was going to be part of the job.
But the couple didn't expect them to be of the non-alcoholic kind! Since they moved into the seventeenth century pub three weeks ago, the couple say they have witnessed some strange ghostly going-ons. Bar mats and menu cards have been moved during the night and chairs and tables have been re-arranged.
Pam said: "In the upstairs restaurant you can sometimes hear male voices." According to pub regulars the mysterious happenings are the work of Fred' who, Pam claims, has haunted the pub in Clifton Road, Salwick, for many years.
Now the new owners are appealing to people to come forward with information leading to Fred's identity?
"Nothing that has happened is really scary," said Pam.
"But we would love to know who Fred is and are appealing to people to pop down and tell us what they know."
