"Haunted" Lewiston landmark up for sale
The Frontier House is on the market
LEWISTON, N.Y. (WKBW) - One of Western New York's most recognizable landmarks is up for sale.
The Frontier House in Lewiston boasts almost 13,000-square feet, lots of rooms and, while it may be a bit of a fixer upper, Bruce Andrews of Great Lakes Real Estate says that the building is sound.
It was built in 1824 and it's safe to say they don't build them like this anymore. Back when it was built it was one of the most popular places to stay in the east. Famous people like Charles Dickens, President William McKinley and the Prince Of Wales stayed here.
For a short time the building was used as a McDonalds restaurant. After a couple of fires, the building has been closed for over a decade.
Some say the place is haunted. But if that doesn't bother you, you can buy it for about $1.7 million.
