Ghost Doctors -- A Haunted Castle in Central Park NYC
No need to fly to Scotland or Romania to experience a haunted castle --
just take a subway to New York's Central Park and ask for the “Castle” and you just might discover some ghostly residents right in the heart of NYC.
New York City, NY -- (SBWIRE) -- 04/19/2012 -- Perched on top of one of the highest spots in Central Park (Vista Rock) stands the almost mythical Belvedere Castle whose very appearance shouts “ghostly” and according to New York's own Ghost Doctors that may just be the case.
Pete and Stew Kandel (known as Dr. Pete and Dr. Stew) aka the “Ghost Doctors” noted paranormal investigators and licensed NYC tour guides have been investigating the supernatural side of New York's most famous park and have added Belvedere Castle to their things to explore list.
“Belvedere Castle was designed back in 1869 by Calvert Vaux -- one of the original designers of Central Park-- and Jacob Mould. It was built as a Victorian Folly -- a sort of Disney-like attraction of the late 1800's” says Dr. Stew. “It was situated to have one of the best views of the park and its very name Belvedere means beautiful view in Italian.”
The Ghost Doctors have investigated a variety of locations in Central Park and have found some possible evidence of paranormal activity associated with the castle. At the beginning of the 20th century the castle was used as a U.S. Weather Station and then later on in the early 1980's it housed the Henry Luce Nature Observatory.
“We did pick up some readings upon investigating the castle, and what's interesting to note, is that Henry Luce the famous publisher also has a study center named after him in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, which when we investigated also displayed some activity as well. And this is quite an interesting coincidence,” says Dr. Stew.
