Marianna, FL -- Could the Russ House in Jackson County be haunted?
Paranormal expert Tracy Todd said he hopes to soon answer that question.
"I'm going to try to find out if there is something there, why it's there, what it wants, and if we can help it," said Todd.
Todd and his fellow ghost busters at Emerald Coast Paranormal Concepts plan to converge on the building near downtown Marianna Saturday night.
"What we'll do is we'll go in as teams. Everybody will be quiet and we'll start asking questions," said Todd.
One of the group's biggest interests is the building's original owner Joseph Russ Junior. History has it that he committed suicide in his upstairs bedroom in 1930 following the stock market crash in 1929.
So is it the ghost of Russ causing the ruckus, or could it be the ghosts of kids?
"We're going to bring some toys, some children's books because there are some reports of some children still wandering around the house," said Todd.
Whoever, or should we say whatever is to blame for the ghost-like activity, Todd and his team said they hope to catch it on camera this weekend.
"We are there to help the living with the dead," said Todd.
The Russ House is also located on part of the land where the Battle of Marianna took place during the Civil War. Todd said the strange sounds may also be coming from the ghosts of soldiers.
