Los Angeles, CA, United States (CNS) - There’s some paranormal activity happening over at the CW. “Vampire Diaries” creator Kevin Williamson is working on a “companion” series to his show about paranormal researchers.
According to E!, a new series serving as a companion to “The Vampire Diaries” is currently in the early development stages. Williamson, who developed “Diaries” as well as “Dawson’s Creek” for the network, has been tapped as writer.
The one-hour drama is about a group of researchers who investigate paranormal activity. Think popular shows like Travel Channel’s “Ghost Adventures,” but with Williamson’s snappy dialogue and what’s sure to be a young, hot cast.
If the new show is paired up with “Vampire Diaries,” it’ll be a new night of supernatural programming for the CW. “Vampire Diaries” is currently paired up with “Nikita” on Thursday nights. (Their other supernatural hit, “Supernatural,” is on Sundays with “Smallville.”)
The show, which reportedly also has “Vampire Diaries” executive producer Julie Plec attached, is being developed to premiere in the upcoming 2011-2012 season
