Ghosthunters busted at Remington plant
BRIDGEPORT -- Nine amateur ghostbusters were arrested early Friday morning in a section of the former Remington plant scheduled to be demolished.
The nine, all students at the University of Bridgeport, were charged with criminal trespass and released after each posted $250 bonds.
According to police, shortly after midnight officers saw flashlight beams coming from the fifth floor of the burned out plant at Helen and Artic streets. Police said the students had gotten into the building by pushing apart the portable fence surrounding the structure.
Police said the students told them they were looking for the ghosts that "professional" ghostbusters saw in the building on a television show.
Arrested were: Sean Breen, 23, of Vermont; Gabriel Ryan, 20, Benjamin Wisoff, 21, Cynthia Barcacel, 20, Lydia Guerrera, 19, and Rose Kaheem, 19, all of Bridgeport; Franco Evangelio, 21, of New Haven; Jason Rhule, 19, of Queens, N.Y.; and Andre Stennett, 18, of Cambria Heights, N.Y.
