Five people have been arrested in Xianyang, China for digging up the body of a young woman to use in a ghost wedding for a young man who died in a car crash.
The boy’s father is listed amongst four other suspects, whom he is alleged to have paid close to $4500 to find his son a wife for the afterlife.
The practice is seeing a strong resurgence in rural China to the point that a criminal gang resorted to murdering young women in Southern China to make up for a shortage of corpses that had died of natural causes.
