Ghost hunters detect spirits at crash pub
GHOST hunters investigating paranormal activity at a North Cotswold pub say they have detected the spirits of a woman and child.
An 11-strong team from Ghostfinder Paranormal Society conducted the investigations while spending a night at Moreton’s Pub and Restaurant, at Salford Hill, on the A44 between Moreton and Chipping Norton, opposite the junction with the A436 Stow road.
Paranormal activity has been reported at the venue – known as The Cross Hands Inn until the Ora Ventures company bought it about a year ago – throughout much of its 600-year history. However, its management says ghosts have become more active since a car crashed into the building on December 13.
The driver survived but a hole, measuring approximately 12 feet by 12 feet, was left in the front wall.
David Hayto, Moreton’s general manager, said it seemed the crash stirred up the ghosts.
The ghost hunters, using high-tech equipment, photographed a bright orb floating in mid-air and recorded electro-magnetic energy. Their spiritualist medium said she sensed the spirits of a woman and child in an attic room.
The medium said the woman was confused and erratically moved around the building with the child’s energy, indicating she may have suffered from a mental problem.
Mr Hayto said: “From what I’ve seen so far – and obviously from what I experienced on the night – there’s definitely something here, there’s no doubt about that.” The ghost hunters will return with a smaller team to continue their investigation.
