Edinburgh Skeptics to give tours

Alex Pryce is in the process of setting up a tour company to conduct walking tours of
Edinburgh. They will consist of 2 history tours focusing on the actual history of the city as opposed to the myths that are banded around- I’m still saddened that some people leave the city thinking Burke & Hare were Graverobbers and that the cute little Greyfriars Bobby story is true. That’s why he is setting up the tours.

A third tour is called “Ghosts Busted: Skeptics on the Mile”. They are still ironing the finer points of exactly what the tour will  consist of. The main idea is to debunk a few of the myths surrounding the hauntings of  Edinburgh and show how the paranormal actually works.

On the tour they will be demonstrating how psychic ability occurs scientifically and inviting people to partake in some experiments including Ouija Boards in the “Haunted Underground” or Graveyard (if they are able to get access). The purpose is to show people how the paranormal really works, and that it is nothing more than suggestion, superstition, subconscious response and in the case of guided tours- listening to authority ie the guide.
