Fort Mifflin could be saved by modern patriots
In a response to a public plea for help, modern patriots have organized a grass roots effort to “ Save the Fort that Saved America.” The first monthly “Town Hall” meeting will be held at Fort Mifflin on Saturday February 7th at 5 PM. All are invited.
“The word is spreading” wrote Lee Anderson, executive director of Fort Mifflin on the Delaware, “I am beginning to get a few contacts from the re-enacting community, but still the overwhelming support has been the Paranormal community” Lee went on to say about the paranormal community “It is my sincere belief that they have been phenomenal in their support and fervor about this cause and I don’t say something I don't mean”
In a joint effort intended to draw from the collective resources of all paranormal societies, investigators, enthusiasts, personalities, and vendors, the Para X Radio Network, in association with CBS Radio's Psychic Radio, launched a crusade to defend the Fort that centuries ago defended us. Led locally by Mark and Robyn of “P.A.R.A.” the first salvo in the battle to save the fort will be two Fort Mifflin Paranormal Events on May 16 & 17 2009.Both days there will be lectures and public paranormal investigations of the fort led by experienced paranormal investigators. Also at the Fort a third event by P.A.R.A. is planned for June 26th 2009, and the first annual East Coast Paranormal Investigators Conference will be held there October 9th – 11th 2009.
The re-enacting community has also responded to the “Save Fort Mifflin “call for help. In a letter from Rich Hickman, Lt. of the 69th Penna. Volunteer Infantry, he wrote “I am happy to announce that my group has voted unanimously to donate our time and music to the effort.” On the weekend of May 23rd 2009 they” will perform both Irish Traditional music and Civil War period music as well as participate in a living history if needed. The music will be performed in a camp type setting” he went on to say "I am sure we would also be able to assist in other fundraisers for the Fort”
Like the first patriots at Fort Mifflin who fought to create our great nation, these modern patriots are fighting to keep Fort Mifflin alive.
