Burns Local is 'Haunted'
Spiritfinders are called in after series of spooky events
A PUB where Robert Burns was a local is haunted.
Ghostbusters have been called into Poosie Nansie's in Mauchline after staff were spooked by some eerie events.
A child has been heared crying in the corridor to the kitchen, when no-one was threre. Glasses have flown off the shelves of the their own accord. And it would appear the spirits have been helping themseves to the spirits.
Poosie Nansie's owner, Marion Young, 59, said: "I was working in my office at 3am when someone came into the room. I felt someone was definitely there, but no-one was to be seen. The hairs on the back of my neck were standing up.
"I have since moved my office upstairs."
She added: "I have been here 13 years and have always known the place was haunted. The previous owner and the one before that said the same thing."
Cook Margaret Armour, 57, said: "A few months ago one of the young waitresses came running into the kitchen asking if there were any young children in the dining room.
"There weren't but she said that she clearly heard a young girl weeping. She was quite shaken."
Barman Sandra Henderson, 49, said that she has definitely felt a 'presence' in the pub.
Sandra added: "I have felt that there was a man standing next to me or behind me tapping me on the shoulder, and no-one has been there.
"On a number of occasions glasses have fallen by themselves and the spirit optics have emptied by themselves.
"But apart from breaking a few glasses and nicking some whisky, whatever kind of ghost it is doesn't seem to be harmful."
In the next month Spiritfinders Scotland will carry out an investigation into the Poosie Nansie's paranormal phenomenon.
Ian Johannesen of Spiritfinders said: "A friend of mine lives in Mauchline and has been a regular in Poosie Nansie's for 25 years.
"He told me that during that time all the owners have said the place is haunted.
"Psychic groups have identified that there are six spirits within the building.
"Marion Young has agreed to let us carry out an investigation and we will do that within the next few weeks. It is certainly a building that interests us greatly."
