A spirited clean-up effort
Paranormal investigators to clean Hopewell Cemetery

GREENVILLE — Most of the time, a local group of paranormal investigators can be found researching sites such as area cemeteries at night, in the hopes of finding evidence of ghostly activity.
But early next month, in the spirit of volunteerism, members from Paranormal Research and Investigations of Northeast Texas (P.R.I.N.T.) plan to visit the Hopewell Cemetery near Floyd, to clean-up one of their favorite ... haunts.
P.R.I.N.T. co-founder Chad Miller of Greenville, recently e-mailed the Herald-Banner about the project, noting his organization, a second area paranormal group from this area and two private individuals intend to do c leaning and restoration effort on Feb. 7.
“This cemetery is in major trouble,” Miller said. “It is overgrown with brush and littered with fallen trees. People have been using it as a dump ground. The headstones have fallen and most of them aren't legible. We will be continuing this project once a month until it is completed and then we will move on to another cemetery that needs our help.”
Miller said the Woodmen of the World organization has granted permission for the clean-up and that around a dozen volunteers have already signed up to participate.
