Hi-tech hunt at popular haunt of the supernatural
GHOST hunters will be hoping to catch sight of something spectral when they visit a Northumberland castle next month, armed with some seriously sophisticated equipment.
North West Spirit Seekers have joined forces with Paul Rowland, who runs the Paradox Experience, to investigate the many paranormal incidents reported at Chillingham Castle, which is reputed to be the most haunted in England.
Paul will be bringing an arsenal of electronic monitoring equipment with him, including the Video Image and Digital Light Feedback Amplifier, a new technology which he has developed to increase the chances of spotting anything unusual.
He said: "We will, for the first time, provide an opportunity to the visiting public to operate unique experimental electronic equipment unavailable to other investigators.
"They could potentially make new discoveries that will add to a growing database of evidence of real paranormal activity. They might really see and record a ghost."
He added: "The Paradox Experience is a fusion of my continued interest in paranormal and my desire to design and build new technology to answer questions about this mysterious subject.
"The enthusiasm of the public feeds my curiosity and some of those visitors will probably witness something unusual and hopefully record it."
Other equipment will include the Sentinel system, used to potentially detect the energy field of ghosts, laser illumination and break-beam alarms for large areas.
Paul added: "I realised new technology was needed to gather and provide conclusive evidence, technology that was not previously available, until I designed and built it.
"Photographs, video and audio recordings are very important as presentable evidence.
"It has always been part of my plan to involve the general public on investigations, with the ever-increasing interest and the enthusiasm they have."
The event takes place on Saturday, February 7, from 9pm to 3am. Contact http://www.northwestspiritseekers.co.uk/index.html for booking details.
