PORTSMOUTH — Jeremy D'Entremont of New England Lighthouse Tours has teamed with Ron Kolek of the New England Ghost Project to create a "Haunted Lighthouses" bus tour that will be based in Portsmouth on Aug. 7.
The special guest on the tour will be David Wells, a world-renowned psychic medium and astrologer. Also on board will be Gavin Cromwell, a well-known psychic from Wales, and Maureen Wood, the New England Ghost Project's own psychic trance-medium.
The tour will visit Portsmouth Harbor Lighthouse in New Castle, said to be haunted by the spirit of a former keeper. Adjacent Fort Constitution, on a site that has been occupied by various forts since 1631, will also be explored. The tour will then head north to the Portland, Maine, area for a visit to Portland Head Lighthouse (built in 1791) and the museum in the keeper's house.
Two other lighthouses — Portland Breakwater Light and the Cape Neddick "Nubble" Light — will also be included, along with two graveyards ¿ the Point of Graves Cemetery in Portsmouth and the Old York Cemetery in York, Maine. Both have been the scene of reported ghostly activity.
David Wells, who was born in Scotland, is widely known for his appearances on the popular British TV series "Most Haunted." He is the author of the books "David Wells' Complete Guide to Developing Your Psychic Skills" and "Past, Present, and Future," and the upcoming "Real People, Real Past Lives."
The tour will begin at 9 a.m. and return at approximately 6:30 p.m. It will be begin and end at the High-Hanover Parking Garage at 34 Hanover Street in Portsmouth. Parking in the garage is 75-cents per hour.
