I was in the house last week with my mom after we had gone on the Ghosts and Graveyards and we were upstairs looking into thomas and anna's bedroom when my mom SWORE she saw the curtain next to the closet moving. Since the room has glass around the door so that nobody can get in there was obviously no way someone could be moving it. My mom told me to take pictures of it w/ my digital camera and the first one i took without the flash turned out completely black, and then i took a second one with the flash and that one also turned out completely black. I figured that my camera was just screwed up so I deleted both of those pictures. As we turned to leave the room I felt something brush up against the back of my right arm and then immediately after something(or one) grabbed my elbow and tried to pull me into the room. I turned around around and when I saw that no one was there I freaked out and ran into the theater where my mom had gone. Afterwards when I was trying to drag my mom out of the house we were talking to the person who was sitting at the front door who worked there and she said that Violet is the only one who they think would impulsively grab people, even if it was in a room not associated with her. Later my mom and I were talking about it and my mom thinks that if it was Violet that she might have connected with me because of our similar mental conditions(she was referring to the depression and my numerous suicide attempts). I just told her that probably wasn't it and maybe whoever it was that grabbed me just didn't want me taking pictures or something, but inside I do think that if it was Violet who grabbed me then that was the reason. What do you guys think?

I would like to add that I have not heard of Violet grabbing anyone. I have rarely sensed her at the house. She is not a happy camper that she is being spoken about. There is still some mystery surrounding the events of her death.
What you describe does not sound like the prankster I refer to in the other post. My psychic sense is that it was Thomas and he was trying to be protective. Thomas feels very badly about what happened to Violet. I can see him being just as concerned for you.
I gather by your handle that you are taking your meds. Keep it up!!

I was at the Whaley House late last night abd as i was approaching the house quetly and came throught the garden and as i approached the side of the house where the courtroom is located,i FELT SOMETHING,A MANLY HAND GRAB ME BY THE JACKET AND YANK ME TWO TO THREE TIMES IN A SORT OF " HEY THER WHAT ARE YOU DOING ON MY PROPERTY!!" KIND OF WAY,AND WHEN I QUICKY TURNED AROUND,NO ONE WAS THERE.
It was my first time at the house,and i was so scared after this incident,i didn't even WANT TO GO INSIDE THE HOUSE.
Just want to say that I sort of disagree about the lady who works there saying that Violet impulsively grabs people. I have talked to (one of) the lady several times and I have never heard her put it quite that way. What she told me is that the only spirits in the house likely to be coming up and touching you are probably Violet and the little girl. She said she didn't view Mr.Whaley as a touchy feely sort of guy, nor Mrs. Whaley unless the person she was touching was probably a baby or small child. The lady said that it seemed to her that Violet was a little more impulsive as far as getting up close to people,and maybe being drawn to them liking their face or hair or something. She said they would be 'loving' type touches and not aggressive. Maybe we just talked to different people or something.
In my experience with the actual Whaley family history, I cannot recall anyone truly characterizing Thomas Whaley as one who would touch anyone. He was in fact a very reserved man. His wife Anna was even more so.
Without going into details, there is one phenomena that has been observed historically (over the past 35 years off and on) in the house that is somewhat similar to what is being described in this thread. And it has been attributed to Anna Whaley.
I would be surprised if Violet, who was very despondent individual for certain, was involved. During over two decades of investigation of the site, we never had one incident we could faithfully attribute to Violet as a contact event.
I would like to add that in that same room I took a picture with my digital camera that was of a white streak (!). I showed it to my friend & we got really excited & couldnt believe we may have caught something on film so easily! well anyway, then I reasoned myself out of it by saying, Oh it was probably just a reflection of the flash. So I deleted the image. Later I realised the camera angle was AWAY from the protective glass & very unlikely was flash back. Since then I have searched ghosts pictures online & found some exactly like that one I deleted. Doht! Secondly, on my first ghost tour of the Whaley house, years ago, one tour guide said a ghost was known for tugging on people, especially women & they all believed this to be the "Gentleman Jim" ghost. I can't wait to go back!
